Lead Electrical Engineer

Our client is a leading provider of power and energy solutions, delivering complex projects across power generation, renewable energy, battery storage and critical infrastructure throughout the APAC region. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
The Role
This is a technical leadership position focused on electrical design, power systems engineering and HV infrastructure projects. You will provide engineering leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning, while supporting and mentoring a team of engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and development of HV and MV electrical systems.
- Delivering HV substation designs, protection systems and control systems.
- Conducting and reviewing power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination and earthing studies.
- Utilising software such as PowerFactory and CDEGS to analyse and optimise system performance.
- Supporting renewable energy, BESS and hybrid power projects.
- Providing technical guidance to internal teams and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with Australian standards and engineering best practice.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in power systems, utilities, mining, power generation or renewable energy projects.
- Strong experience with HV substations, electrical design and power system studies.
- Proficiency with PowerFactory, CDEGS or similar modelling software.
- Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
